The Southern Negro Youth Congress (SNYC): Archival Activations No. 72024
Design for 7th issue of the Archival Activations zine series—a multi-year project for activating Mariame Kaba’s personal collection through publications. The SNYC was a left-wing, interracial youth coalition dedicated to advancing the causes of civil rights and economic equality in the South between 1937 and 1949. It made important progress in organizing for democracy and workers’ rights in the South, and helped lay the groundwork for the Civil Rights Movement of the 50s and 60s. The accompanying illustration is a foldout.
